Day 3. Happy New Year!

We rang in the new year as promised, with good friends, great food,  and fine wines. The highlight of the evening though was probably when Ellie, Emily and Justin's too-cute-to-be-true daughter grabbed her granny's iPhone and started scrolling like a pro, giggling at pictures of herself and having a ball.  Just imagine what will happen once America's children get their little hands on  Apple's rumored tablet device (think big iPod)!  (Hint: buy AAPL!)

It felt so good to be back with our old friends again!  It's like we never left, some 17 years ago.  Speaking of old, as we ate and drank, we would periodically glance at our watches, and much to our dismay we began to realize we probably wouldn't make it to midnight.  UNLESS!!  We decided to celebrate in Central Time Zone!  Viola!  Happy New Year!!  Wahoo!!  Bedtime!

We spent a the morning gingerly adapting to the new year;  me with a wee hangover,  and Lynne with a severe chest cold.  Later in the afternoon, we went to see our filly, Imdala. She is a 2 year old pure Egyptian Arabian from a famous bloodline.  In 2-3 years she will become the Vice President of Production and the Baby Factory for Freund Family Arabians, LLC.  She will turn grey eventually, (aka "white"), and watching her move in the field is just magical. Kristin takes good care of her,  and is training her well;  hopefully she will be riding her by Spring time!

We ended the day with Kristin and her boyfriend Kyle over for dinner at Kristin's house.  Pasta, of course.   I shared some of my secrets with Kristin,  and plan to spend some evenings cooking with her in Breck.

Speaking of which,  we need MORE SNOW in Summit County!   So,  if you know any good Snow Voodoo dances or other magical incantations, bring it on. We head out tomorrow to move into our new temporary home.   TTYL!
